Meet Track and Field Coach Stephanie Grant

Coach Stephanie Grant may be new to MMS, but she has a long history in the sport of track and field. Coach Grant has been involved with track since the fourth grade, when she began competing in Hershey track and field meets. Since then, she has competed in state-level high school meets (where she was part of the state-champion 4x400 relay team and was state runner-up in the 400-meter dash), and as a four-year member of the Division I Marquette University track team. Outside of her own competitions, Coach Grant has also volunteered her time and expertise to several youth track camps.

With a degree in Elementary Education, Coach Grant wanted to come to Milwaukee Montessori School not only because of its successful track and field record, but also because of its excellent academic reputation. “The students at Milwaukee Montessori School are highly motivated and ready to learn, not only in the classroom but at track practice as well. This environment is conducive for success, and I am excited to be a part of it,” Coach Grant explains.

When asked what she looks forward most about this track season, Coach Grant says she’s excited to watch the growth and improvement of the student athletes. She adds that her favorite part about coaching is helping young athletes reach their full potential. “I have learned a lot about the sport of track and field from my experiences as an athlete and I hope to communicate these skills to my athletes,” she says. “As a coach, I enjoy seeing the progress the athletes are already making and can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds!”

Please join us in welcoming Coach Grant to MMS, and stay tuned for future updates as the track and field season continues!
