Academics

Milwaukee Montessori School is a co-educational day school for students from toddler age through the eighth grade.

Our classrooms are composed of students in two or three-year age groupings. First Steps and Stepping Stones: ages 18 months to 36 months; Children’s House: grades K3, K4, and K5; Lower Elementary: grades 1, 2, and 3; Upper Elementary: grades 4, 5, and 6; Junior High: grades 7 and 8. Co-curricular classes are also offered in Spanish language; instrumental and vocal music; studio art, cyber art, and photography; athletic instruction; technology instruction.

Our First Steps and Stepping Stones programs for children ages 18 months - 3 years

First Steps & Stepping Stones

Our Toddler program is for children 18 months-3 years. Lessons are given by our enthusiastic, skilled faculty, and the program is open from 6:45am until 6:00pm.

Children's House

The Children’s House is the first academic level in our Montessori program, serving children in the preschool and kindergarten years (K3-K5).

Lower Elementary at Milwaukee Montessori School

Lower Elementary

The curriculum for our first-third graders features a morning work period devoted to the core academic subjects of Botany, Zoology, Geography, History, Mathematics, Geometry, and Language Arts.

Upper Elementary at Milwaukee Montessori School

Upper Elementary

The fourth-sixth grade focuses on core academic subjects of biology, geography, history, mathematics, geometry, grammar, writing, and literature study.

Junior High at Milwaukee Montessori School

Junior High

Milwaukee Montessori School established a Junior High program for 7th and 8th grades in the fall of 1981 with 9 students. Since then, students have successfully matriculated into parochial, independent, and public high schools.

Technology

All MMS students from age three have access to multiple computers in their classrooms, and they use them daily to develop skills in reading, spelling, mathematics, and even foreign language study.
