This fall marks our fifth year of Flag Football for Lower Elementary students. The 2012 coaching staff will include Roger Gonzalez, a current MMS athletic coach, and Chris Gauger, who is an MMS athletics assistant and one of our Nighthawks teachers.
In this club, we will focus on learning the rules of the game, and our practices will include teamwork training, warm-up stretches, agility exercises and running.
Clothing: Cleats or running shoes are crucial. We suggest that students wear warm up pants or sweat pants, both long and short sleeved t-shirts for layering, as well as sweatshirts, or heavy fleece jackets. Hats and gloves will be necessary as the weather grows cooler.
Practices: Tuesdays from 3:30-5:00pm on the following dates: October 9th, October 16th, October 23rd, October 30th and ending on Tuesday, November 6th.
Drop-off and Pick-up: Coaches will pick children up, along with their belongings, directly from their classrooms and walk them to the backyard patio where attendance will be taken. If necessary, students will then change and meet again in the backyard. Pick-up will take place on the front porch from 5:00-5:15pm, where students will need to be signed out. Students not picked up by 5:15pm will go to Nighthawks/ Jayhawks, where all applicable fees will apply.
