MUSICAL DRAMA & SET DESIGN
"Annie"
June 18–29 (2 week class), Ages 7 and up
In this exciting two-week production, students will audition for parts, be assigned roles, practice their lines, and learn songs and choreographed dances, while also learning the basics of set and costume design. The musical, Annie, is the delightful, time-honored story of Little Orphan Annie, adopted by Daddy Warbucks, but then stolen away by the dreadful orphanage mistress, Mrs. Hannigan. We are thrilled that this production will be directed by Nancy Visintainer-Armstrong, the renowned choreographer for Off The Wall Theatre. Join us for this exciting, intensive theatre experience!

SPORTS
Ultimate Frisbee
July 2–6, Ages 9 and up
Combining the non-stop movement and athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing skills of football, the game of Ultimate is played with a high-tech plastic Frisbee on a field similar to football. Players move quickly from offense to defense on turnovers, out-of-bounds passes, or when a player is caught holding the disc for more than ten seconds. Ultimate is governed by Spirit of the Game™, a tradition of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on the players rather than referees. Ultimate is played in more than 42 countries by hundreds of thousands of men, women, girls, and boys. Ultimate will culminate with a competitive game at the end of the week; parents are welcome to watch our kids in action!

TECHNO ART
MAD COMIX LAB
July 9–13, Ages 9 and up
Find your inner artist and storyteller in the world of comics! In this session, students will create and design in-depth characters and use advanced yet user-friendly software to learn the basics of visual sequential storytelling to execute their very own original comic strip. Comic strips have the artistic potential to be anything from philosophically sagacious to insanely silly. Find out where your voice lies in the spectrum with MAD COMIX LAB!

ART & SCULPTURE
Metal Works
July 16–20, Ages 9 and up
Humans have been fashioning copper, gold, and silver into ornaments and amulets as early as the Neolithic period, and the allure of metallurgy continues to inspire artisans worldwide to create jewelry, plates, inlays, and sculpture. In this course, we will learn methods for shaping metals, including drawing and hammering, as well as the methods for decoration, including embossing and tooling. As they study these ancient metal-tooling techniques, students will create a fabulous wall hanging, and beautify a metal box using their new skills.

COMPUTERS & TECHNOLOGY
Programming for Game Design
July 23 – August 3 (2 week class), Ages 9 and up
Calling all cyber-natives! Join us to design and develop a reality game that can lead real people to take real action to solve a major world problem. Inspired by Jane McGonigal (TED Talks) and the United Nations 7 Billion report, we will select an important global issue to address, develop the prototype for a massively multi-player game, and test it live with a select group using technology that can enhance the gameplay and expand the range of potential players. Unlike anything you have ever experienced, this program helped one of our students to win President Obama’s National STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Video Game Challenge – one of only twelve students in the country to do so!

METEOROLOGY
Storm Chasing:  Meteorology and the Weather
August 6-10, Ages 9 and up
Are you curious about how weather predictions are made or how to spot signs of turbulent weather? The Storm Chasing Camp gives students hands-on experience in meteorology, including the actual process of making a forecast using our state-of-the-art weather station. Students will have broad exposure to weather forecasting, environmental modeling, and scientific measurements using hands-on activities, field experiments, and a visit with a local meteorologist. As we practice team-building and communications skills, we will discuss atmospheric sciences, including weather and forecast models, environmental instrumentation, and how socio-economic and political events can impact the weather. Finally, students will show off their new skills in a weather forecasting contest.
