We are excited to be running a NEW Chess club at Milwaukee Montessori School sponsored by CheckMates Chess Academy! In this intro class, students who are brand new to chess will learn about board setup and Pawn Wars; students who know chess will learn a fun alternative chess game such as Bughouse or Revolver Chess. All students age 6 through UE are invited and parents are welcome to come to observe our unique teaching style.
CheckMates Chess Academy offeres premier chess classes in Chicago and Milwaukee for children grades K-6th, teaching them the skills to master chess and how to use them in real life. We strive to make chess class both educational and fun using our “Rise in Rank” curriculum. Students will start at level 1 (Cadet) and work their way up to level 8 (Admiral). With each level, students will receive a workbook with extra practice to reinforce the skills learned in class. Students will have time both in class and out to work on these and refine their skills, earning a promotion with every workbook completed. Online Support is also available as well as community tournaments and private lessons.
Chess develops many skills crucial to a young person’s growth. These skills will help your children not only on the chess board, but in school and their everyday lives.
