We are starting our tenth season of basketball here at Milwaukee Montessori School this upcoming winter! Again, we are entering the 
Beulah Brinton Community Center league where our 5th and 6th grade team took first place in the entire league last year! Our basketball teams are open to 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. All three MMS teams had a fantastic season last year and we are confident this next season will be just as great.
Practices & Teams
Junior High (grades 7-8) - Practices will take place Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:15-5:15 in the St. Therese Gym starting Monday, November 10th. We will also have scrimmages and games on Saturdays. Jim Scheurell will be coaching for the 6th year at MMS. The last day of practice will be Tuesday, March 10th, marked by a Parent/Student Basketball game.
Sixth grade team - Practices will take place Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:15-5:15 in the St. Therese Gym starting Tuesday, November 11th. League games will be held on Saturday afternoons. Cedric Mays and Geoff Lowry, coaching for their second year, hope to repeat their first-place finish from last year. The last day of practice will be Wednesday, March 11th marked by a Parent/Student game.
Fourth and Fifth grade team – Practices will take place Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:15-5:15 in the St. Therese Gym starting Wednesday, November 12th. League games will be held on Saturdays between 11:00am and 1:00pm. Roger Gonzalez and Lucas Thomas, who also coach Cross Country and Flag Football, will coach this team. The last day of practice will be Friday, March 13th marked by a Parent/Student game.
Registration and Uniforms
Each student must have athletic shoes and appropriate athletic gear for each practice, such as athletic shorts, sweatpants, and t-shirts. Students may purchase MMS sweatshirts, and long- and short-sleeved t-shirts off the website by visiting the following link: MMS Wear. We will be using the same uniforms as last year, and all players must have one to play in a game. The price for the uniform is $37 dollars and orders will be placed within the next couple weeks.
