Each Milwaukee Montessori School classroom has a computer that may be used during the academic school day at any time. Our youngest students use computers for simple activities, such as learning to use the mouse. Lower and Upper Elementary students use classroom computers for research and reports. They are instructed in the use of computer-based technology to enhance the productivity, creativity, and technical expertise expected of the high school-bound student. Concepts covered are typing for proficiency; word processing and document formatting; creating templates; creating and using spreadsheets, tables, and charts; using images in documents; creating PowerPoint presentations and Web pages; planning and organizing electronic research techniques; and the ethical use of technology including copyright protection and plagiarism.
