Milwaukee Montessori School’s extensive extracurriculars provide students the opportunity to construct meaningful relationships, foster respectful competitive mindsets and take on challenges outside the classroom. Whether a student joins Athletics, our Robotics Program, a Club, Atrium, Personalized Tutoring, or participates in Math Lab, they will receive the same dedicated mentoring/coaching and balance to their academic studies. A vast majority of our students join one of our extracurriculars as a way to explore their interests before further engaging in ones in high school and beyond. We encourage you to visit our extracurricular pages to learn more about the many selections we offer.
After-School Math Lab
It is a great source of pride that Milwaukee Montessori School students excel in mathematics; fully 85% of our Upper Elementary and Junior High students score well above national and Independent school averages in math. One reason for this success is that all 3rd - 8th grade students are expected to complete 3-hours of math outside of class each week.
1 on 1 Tutoring
Milwaukee Montessori School offers one-on-one tutoring during or after-school from faculty trained in the Orton-Gillingham method, an explicit, simultaneous, sequential, multisensory, and systematic program proven highly effective in increasing academic productivity. Classroom teachers refer students to the tutoring program if they need help in any subject.
Maria Montessori observed that the child possesses a natural spirituality, and early in her life’s work, she designed the Atrium curriculum to enrich that relationship by creating an environment with beautifully prepared materials that foster a child’s religious life, community, and worship through the study of scripture, liturgy, and the history of man’s relationship with God.
