Admission FAQ

Does MMS have a waiting pool?

Yes. At the conclusion of the admissions process, some students will be offered wait pool status. These applicants are eligible for acceptance if additional openings occur in the spring, or in rarer cases, during the academic school year.

Are any applicants given special consideration?

Yes. Sibling applicants and children of graduates are given special consideration.

Is there a birthday cut-off date for applicants?

Yes. Children must be five-years old by the August 1st directly preceding the enrollment year in order to be considered a third-year children’s house student. Likewise, a child must turn six by August 1st to be considered for admission into our Lower Elementary classrooms.

Do you enroll an equal number of boys and girls?

As a co-educational school, we try to enroll an equal number of girls and boys.

Do students come from a limited number of schools?

No. We receive applicants from a wide array of schools from many locations throughout the city, neighboring suburbs, and from out-of-state and international schools.

Does MMS provide transportation for students?

All of our students are dropped off and picked up by their parents. However, many families carpool with one another for morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up, for after-school sports events, clubs, and special events.

Does MMS provide lunch for students?

Our school has a hot lunch program available. Students must sign up at the beginning of the school year and again in January in order to receive lunch.
