Delicious is a social bookmarking tool that allows users to save their internet favorites (or bookmarks) online so they are accessible from any computer. Delicious allows users to organize links to useful websites using “tags”. The MMS Tech Team has collected many useful, educational and relevant links for students and parents to reference at home. The links on our site have been tagged by grade level, by subject matter, and content for easy sorting.
You do not need to have a Delicious account set up to view the links that we have bookmarked. You only need to create an account if you want to begin bookmarking your own links.
When you first arrive on the site, the bookmarks you will see are the ones that were most recently added. On the right side of the page you will see the tags that have been created to help you sort through the websites. You can look through the “Top 10 Tags” or expand the “All Tags” list (by clicking on the arrow to the left of All Tags) and begin browsing. When you find a website that fits your needs, simply click on the name of the site and you will be directed to that site.
For example, if you were looking for an educational activity for your child or if your child has a research assignment that he/she would like to complete from home, you could first click on the tag of your child’s grade level (i.e. Upper_School). Delicious will then sort through all the links on our site and show you every site that has been marked with that tag. On the right side of the page you will then see a list of “related tags” that can narrow your search even further (i.e. games, interactive, or a specific subject matter like Geography).
