MMS Fund Classroom Competition
Our 2014 Milwaukee Montessori School MMS Fund drive is officially underway! Each year, we set a family participation goal and a donation goal we hope to achieve by the end of the fund drive. Last year, we achieved an incredible 92% in family participation (the national average is 67% for all private schools) and raised over $155,000! This year, we hope to achieve a lofty 95% family participation and raise $158,000.
In past years, family donations have contributed to the betterment of our school and afforded the opportunity to: renovate the Milestones, Jayhawks, and math rooms as well as the Grotto, purchase Tablet PCs to help us convert to a “paperless classroom,” provide tuition assistance to students in need along with Nature’s Classroom scholarships, build our covered play area and new play structures, purchase athletic equipment to aid in the overall fitness of our student body, provide science laboratory equipment, reading books, faculty professional development workshops, and purchase a 3D printer, and a professional printing press for our art department.
Donations to the MMS Fund can further benefit the classrooms as we kick off our Classroom Competition. The first classroom at Milwaukee Montessori School to achieve 100% family participation will win a classroom pizza party and $500 to spend on items for the classroom, field trips, and other special educational opportunities. All other classrooms who achieve 100% participation win $150 and a pizza party. Classrooms that earn 90% family participation receive $150 to spend on special classroom projects or materials.
