Anna, a Riverwest Milwaukee native, is a Children's House Directress at MMS. After graduating from Rufus King IB High School, Anna went on to study English and education at Beloit College. There, she also competed in four years of varsity soccer and track and captained both teams. Following college, Anna completed her student-teaching in New Zealand where she lived for six months and conducted research regarding the inclusion of native cultures into primary education.

Anna values the Montessori ideology of meeting the developmental needs of each child and the freedom of creative choice in learning. She appreciates the curiosity and fresh perspective that young minds demonstrate towards the world. She has completed her Montessori Children’s House training at Milwaukee Montessori Teacher Training Center in Evanston, Illinois, and has six years of teaching experience including work as an assistant at Maryland Avenue Montessori.

When she is not teaching, Anna enjoys staying active by playing soccer several times a week, biking, practicing yoga, running, completing several half marathons and one marathon. She also loves reading and traveling the world with her husband, having ventured to every continent in the world. She enjoys incorporating her first-hand experience of different cultures and lands into her primary classroom through lessons on culture, botany, zoology, and
geography.
