Before joining the faculty at MMS, Kathy Maki worked in the summer recreation department at Milwaukee Public Schools teaching games, crafts, and group activities to four, five, and six-year-olds. It was there that she discerned a love of teaching, and she went on to earn an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Milwaukee Area Technical College. Upon graduation in the summer of 1989, Kathy began working at MMS in the Toddler Program and has remained there ever since. Every day, she looks forward to seeing the young children develop brand new skills and watching their language blossom, as well as building relationships with them through the years. She has even seen quite a few of them graduate eighth grade and beyond!
Kathy and her husband, Chris, have two wonderful children. Alexandra is a senior in high school and is an MMS alum, and Jack, who is a sophomore. Kathy loves to travel with her family and hang out at home reading and playing with their yellow lab.
