After many years of dedicated teaching, Betsy Prinz earned a diploma from the esteemed Orton-Gillingham Academy, becoming a master-level tutor in reading instruction. She spent several years honing her expertise at the Children’s Dyslexia Center, where she developed a deep understanding of structured literacy interventions.

In 2021, Milwaukee Montessori School was fortunate to welcome Betsy to our team as a private reading tutor. She takes great pride in the meaningful progress her students make and believes that building confidence is inseparable from developing reading skills. Her sessions are marked by both precision and encouragement, and her students often leave with smiles—knowing their hard work, guided by her expert instruction, is helping them grow into strong, capable readers.

Betsy finds immense joy in the one-on-one connections she builds with her students and remains especially proud of her very first pupil, who is now graduating from college and preparing to attend law school.

Outside of her work, Betsy enjoys the companionship of her cat, long walks with her dog, gardening, needlepoint, sewing, and, of course, reading.
