Front Desk Administrative Assistant/Events Coordinator


Milwaukee Montessori School is seeking a full-time Front Desk Administrative Assistant/Events Coordinator. MMS is a nationally recognized, private Montessori school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. MMS has over 400 students enrolled, ages ranging from 18 months to 8th grade.

An ideal candidate is detail-oriented, skilled at database management, maintains a strong customer service in all situations, and can effectively manage a range of projects simultaneously. Most importantly, the Administrative Assistant/Events Coordinator must be comfortable and prepared to be the “face” of Milwaukee Montessori School, focused on providing incredible customer service. An ideal candidate must be a thoughtful listener, attentive to detail, and have impeccable follow-through.


Responsibilities:

  • Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate school programs such as student socials, visitation days, parent association events, etc.
  • Support Administrative Team: Routinely perform a wide variety of support duties, such as research, data entry, and preparing documents and reports. Reports to the Director of Development and Communications.
  • Data Management: Perform data entry and manage large databases. Build and run reports as needed.
  • Customer Service: Courteously respond to the needs of visitors, parents, staff, and students. Exhibits sound judgment with the ability to prioritize and make decisions.
  • Receptionist/Front Desk: First point of contact for families, appropriately directing their inquiries. Able to keep calm and assume a leadership role during routine emergency drills.
  • Computer Operations: Utilize various computer programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office products and graphic design tools.
  • Communication: Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits attention to detail when proofreading and preparing correspondence for administrators.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team.
  • Funds Handling: Ensure the proper receipt of all collected funds and monies.
  • School Information & Activities Knowledge: Stay informed and current on school activities, programs, and events related to the school.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience in project management. Preferred but not required experience working in an academic environment and/or non-profit development, coordinating and supporting events and projects.
  • Events: Enjoy planning and executing events and social gatherings.
  • Availability: Must be able to commit to working some evenings and occasional weekends for specific events.
  • Work Environment: Comfortable working around children of all ages.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.


Pay: $18.00 - $21.00/hour

Montessori Toddler and Childcare Teacher


Milwaukee Montessori School, has an immediate opening for a dedicated and experienced toddler/childcare teacher for a full-time, year-round position. Children range in age from eighteen months to six years old. This full-time position requires someone with a passion for early childhood education and the ability to work seamlessly within a team.


This position is a full-time, year-round position. Shifts are 7-8 hours long, between 6:45am - 6 pm, and remain stable each week.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working collaboratively to design and continuously improve the toddler and childcare programs in alignment with our learning objectives.
  • Creating and maintaining a prepared environment that is well-ordered, clean, and inviting, encourages student exploration and growth, and facilitates each student’s growing concentration and independence.
  • Follow and enforce school standards and procedures.
  • Observing each child’s individual progress to plan future learning activities that are developmentally appropriate for each student.
  • Investing in the whole child. You understand that meeting the emotional needs of each student is a primary task of the Montessori educator with a proven understanding of and sensitivity to the developmental attributes of the Toddler (18 months - 3 years) and Children’s House (3K-5K) student.


Strong Candidates will have:

  • The position does not require prior experience but it is helpful. This position requires a willingness to learn, the ability to accept all feedback and implement suggestions as prescribed
  • Understand the value of punctuality, pulling one's weight in a team environment, getting along with colleagues, and a detailed eye for order and cleanliness.
  • Desire to collaborate and contribute to a progressive school environment
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and emotional control are required for a bustling environment
  • Must be able to lift at least fifty pounds

Ballet Teacher


Milwaukee Montessori School is seeking a Ballet teacher to provide instruction on Fridays for two age groups:


  • Ages 4-5: 1:30 - 2:15 PM
  • Ages 6-7: 2:30 - 3:15 PM


The ideal candidate will be experienced in ballet, teach the elements of ballet, maintain an orderly classroom environment, and arrive punctually. Days and times can be flexible.
