Ms. Sundquist began at Milwaukee Montessori School in 2013. Her incredible passion for children's education has led her to become certified in both NAMC Infant & Toddler Certification and the NAMC Early Childhood Montessori Diploma (Children's House). In 2026, she received her AMI 3-6 Diploma from the Montessori Center of Minnesota. She has been a Directress in Children's House for 7 years and counting!
Ms. Sundquist creates a fun and positive classroom environment that inspires all of her students to be their best selves. Her upbeat and joyful demeanor encourages students to strive for excellence every day, have a positive growth mindset, and be good friends with one another. She truly cares about each and every individual in the MMS community, young and old. She believes that working with children is an excellent opportunity to watch them grow and a great joy to see their smiling faces every day. Before coming to MMS, Katie worked with youth at the West Allis-West Milwaukee Recreation Department for ten years in a variety of ways. Katie ran her own playground field house, as well as arts and crafts, sports, and many other fun activities. Katie also ran a dance program and was co-director of a gymnastics program. Katie attended MATC where she studied psychology and business before focusing on education.
In her free time, Katie loves to bowl, read, golf, and spend time with her family.
